Mountain bikes are built for adventure — whether that’s tearing through forest trails, exploring the countryside, or just making the school run feel a bit more exciting. Hardtail MTBs are a brilliant all-rounder, with responsive front suspension to soak up bumps and a rigid rear end that keeps your power going where it should: into the pedals, not disappearing into the bike. They’re perfect for everything from XC riding to light enduro, and surprisingly good on the road too (yes, even when the weather can’t decide what season it is).

Hardtails are also a more affordable way to get into mountain biking, giving you excellent performance and reliability without the extra cost and maintenance of rear suspension. For many riders — especially around Stratford and local trails — a hardtail is often the smartest choice and gives you the best value for money.

If you’re after something even more capable, a full suspension MTB opens the door to bigger trails, bike parks, holidays away, and proper off-road adventures. While Stratford isn’t exactly the Alps, brands like Scott make fantastic full suspension bikes with clever lockout systems that pedal efficiently on flatter terrain while still giving you loads of comfort and control when things get rough.

We don’t believe in pushing people into the “most expensive bike in the shop” approach. As an independent local bike shop, we’d rather help you find the right bike for the riding you actually do.
